Dizzee Rascal & Dirtee Stank Presents: Smurfie Syco

If ur following Diretee Stank on YouTube I’m sure u haven’t missed all those “Smurfie Syco 300 bars”-clips, and esp. the latest and the final clip of the series, “Dizzee’s Greatest Hit List”.

Smurfie Syco is the latest addition the Dizzee Rascal’s Dirtee Stank family and according to Dizzee the next bright prospect of grime. Hailing from North London, Smurfie is set to take over the grime scene starting off with his debut mixtape, “SmurfieSyco.com” which is released today is hosted and mixed by Dirtee Stank’s legendary DJ Semtex.

Haven’t heard anything off the mixtape yet but the collaborations ‘This Way’, ‘Hustler’ & ‘Klappin’ with Dizzee should be good. I’m not that sure off this track called ‘So Special’ thou, from the upcoming album which is set to be released ibn 2010. The track is produced by Guy Christo (Daft Punk) and nah, I’m not feeling it. I don’t think the future in grime lie in Daft Punk-ish productions to be honest…

U can order the mixtape “SmurfieSyco.com” over here.

It's funny you should mention the Daft Punk production. There's been a lot of talk recently about where Hip Hop is going and how it's evolving into some pop-dance genre in the mainstream. Personally, I love dance music and and Hip Hop so when the two come together it really works for me. I'm looking forward to hearing what Smurfie has to offer up. There's a debate about the Hip Hop /dance cross over here: http://www.rivmixx.com/features-listing/is-dizzee-rascal-hip-hop/3
